Kibrafix is a quick-setting MS-polymer adhesive offering a strong permanent bond for low-movement joints, with adhesion to cork, wood, concrete, steel, masonry, brick and many plastics, including on porous or damp surfaces. It is low-VOC, non-toxic when cured, and free from solvents, acids and isocyanates, while remaining durable, paintable and resistant to UV, water, oils and common cleaning agents.
Ecomerchant's Will Kirkman says Kibrafix is ideal for pairing with Kibrasol. "It means we can now offer a fully compatible thermal break system built around natural rather than petrochemical materials," he said.
Early adopters of Kibrasol, among them architects, passive house designers and builders, have praised the cork blocks' compressive strength, ease of detailing and thermal performance for windows, door thresholds, balconies, connections and other cold-bridge-prone junctions. The addition of a dedicated adhesive gives specifiers a straightforward way to deliver structural thermal breaks compatible with low-embodied-carbon design and healthy building fabric.
