New solar hot water cylinder introduced

Dublin-based QRS Renewable Systems has become the sole distributor of Akvaterm products, introducing the Finnish company’s solar hot water cylinders to Ireland for the first time.

The Akvatherm solar hot water cylinder Akvaterm accumulator tanks are designed to improve efficiency of solar, biomass or any other heating systems, lowering carbon dioxide footprint. Combined with new or existing heating systems, it is claimed that the hot water cylinders can reduce the usage of fuel by up to 70%, allowing Irish customers to save in energy bills and make the most of their solar systems.

According to QRS, Finnish company Akvaterm is the European leader at designing and constructing accumulator tanks and special vessels. Akvaterm's accumulator tank is a purpose built pressure rated solar cylinder and can be supplied with multiple coils to facilitate connecting to solar thermal, biomass and other conventional heating systems.
The amount of energy saved by household depends on the size and application of the system. According to Robert Hegarty, operations director for QRS Renewable Systems: "The high quality insulation allows the cylinder to retain the stored heat energy much longer.

"Solar hot water cylinders are ideal for both domestic and commercial projects. The main benefits include highly efficient insulation, flexible design options for coils and connections and the fact that they can be used with different heat sources."

The QES Group, in business since 1994, has built its reputation on supplying reliable critical power products alongside a customer focused back up service. QRS Renewable Systems has grown naturally by supplying with a renewable and sustainable energy alternative to the existing product and service range.

QRS has partnered with a number of well-known manufacturers - Phocos, SMA, Swift Turbines, Watt and Atlantis Energy - to supply a total renewable power solution with products including photovoltaics, solar heating, biomass wood pellet, geothermal, wind turbines and rain water harvesting solutions.

The company's services include renewable energy systems design and installation, energy audits and energy management consultancy, feasibility studies, building energy rating assessments, mechanical, electrical and control systems installation, as well as training and service support.

QRS operates a quality system to ISO 9001:2000 certification and all products are SEI (Sustainable Energy Ireland) accredited. "We are strongly committed to supplying and servicing products that meet our strict
specifications in terms of quality, innovation and technology," Hegarty added.
