Amvic Ireland ICF gets updated Agrément cert

The company’s Pat Martin told Passive House Plus that the new Amvic 300 block, used externally as part of the ICF system, delivers a U-value of 0.20 W/m2K, which, when combined with its “extraordinarily low airtightness and thermal bridging factors”, enables buildings to achieve an A2 building energy rating.

As part of the NSAI certification process, the Amvic ICF system underwent a full thermal bridge assessment by leading thermal modellers Passivate, while a suite of acoustic tests was also carried out on the party wall system.“Both of these demonstrated performance far in excess of the building regulations,” Pat Martin told Passive House Plus.

Amvic Ireland also recently completed a social housing scheme of 28 houses in Sixemilebridge, Co Clare, with occupants moving in just before Christmas.

Pat Martin also told Passive House Plus that the company is now supplying its new 300 block system to a number of large-scale residential developments in the Dublin area, with more schemes due to start in the spring.

“Amvic’s ICF system provides a certified, one stop shop solution to meet all the requirements of the building regulations — thermal, acoustic, structural and fire compliance — all without the need for wet trades on site,” Pat Martin said.
