Construct Ireland has received seven nominations for this year's Irish Magazine Awards, the most nominations of any business magazine. Only Hot Press received more nominations across all categories.

"This is a great endorsement of the hard work the whole team has put into Construct Ireland this year," said editor Jeff Colley. "Despite the downturn in both the publishing and construction sectors our continued buoyancy is a sign of the growing interest in green building and renewable energy."

In August Construct Ireland announced an 11.4 per cent circulation rise - the largest percentage increase of any Irish magazine in this year's Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC) results. The magazine’s circulation increased from 6,693 to 7,458 over the previous year. Only one other Irish business magazine posted a circulation increase in this time. “We’re still increasing our circulation,” said Colley. “At the current rate of progress we’re confident that our next ABC results will average in excess of 8,000 copies.”

Last month, two Construct Ireland proposals were included in the new programme for government agreed between the Green Party and Fianna Fáil: one will allow homeowners to pay for energy upgrades over time on their utility bills, the other will ensure building energy ratings (BERs) are displayed prominently on all property advertising.

Construct Ireland was nominated in the following categories for this year's awards: business-to-business (B2B) magazine of the year, B2B website of the year, B2B editor of the year (Jeff Colley), B2B designer of the year (Lauren Colley), journalist of the year (Lenny Antonelli), photographer of the year (Amy Colley) and B2B magazine front cover of the year (Vol 4, Iss 6).
